My fiance and I went up the Hudson river for Valentine's Day and stopped in a little historic town called New Paltz. We wandered just off the beaten path past some antique stores to the outskirts of town and I couldn't help but be enamored by the barren winter landscape. Somehow, the bleakness of the trees and the frozen river seemed to illuminate the warmth and abundance of being in love through opposition. It is strangely wonderful to feel very much alive and fruitful in a freezing world of black and white.
